What better way to bring family and friends together, then with a fun filled, delicious picnic?

With the warm weather that we’ve been having, it definitely feels like picnic time. It’s an opportunity for everyone to enjoy some nourishing food and spend quality time together. But where do you start? It’s easy to fall into the sandwich trap but your picnic could be much more exciting and nutritious if you allow a little bit of preparation time.

So think frittatas, pancakes, wraps, salads & chopped vegetables, falafels, hummus, dips, tasty healthy deserts.

Your children will bounce around with good energy, as the food will keep them fuller for longer instead of creating a sugar high, followed by a slump, from refined and processed foods and sweets and chocolates.

Here are some delicious recipes to help you have a healthy picnic that all generations will enjoy.

Chickpea pancakes – they are gluten free and using chickpea flour adds extra protein.
