About the Recipe

These are natural shots to drink every day throughout the winter months for immune protection. These shots should have quite a kick to them - taste the juice and add a little more ginger or turmeric for a stronger flavour.

Ingredients

  • 6 green apples (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious), skin on

  • 3 small sticks of fresh turmeric

  • 8cm ginger root

Preparation

Step 1


Roughly chop the fruit and feed all the ingredients through the juicer.


Step 2


Using the jug, carefully pour into shot cups with lids. Freeze immediately and take one out every day for an immune boost.


Green apples are high in vitamin C and flavonoids such as quercetin. Clinical studies have shown turmeric (curcumin) to be a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, comparable to potent drugs such as ibuprofen without the toxicity. Ginger is a carminative and anti-spasmodic with anti-inflammatory gingerols.
