These consultations are all about how important food is when it comes to your health. Through dietary changes I can help with conditions ranging from inflammation, cardio vascular issues and osteoporosis to IBS, gut issues and inflammation, or simply just help you live a healthier lifestyle. These changes are all about optimising your diet, which in turn will optimise your health. Pop along to take advantage of my free personal consultations and find out how to deal with your health issues and feel the benefits of a personal nutritional plan.
Who are Altius and What do they do?
Altius is a relatively young company, founded by an expert physiotherapist with a great deal of experience in the field, including working for the England Rugby Team! Altius Healthcare lead the way in physiotherapy, offering a broad range of wellness services. Their client base ranges from the average person, suffering with injury or pain, to elite athletes in need of specialised treatment. At Altius, every client is treated as if they were an Olympian, with a highly professional, thorough and personal approach to their physiotherapy plans.
Our Synergy
Both of our approaches to physical wellness are from different scientific disciplines, but complement each other’s perfectly. Nutritional Therapy can aid the recovery, pain relief and well-being of anybody suffering with an injury. On the road to recovery it is essential that your diet, as well as your physiotherapy plan, is carefully thought out and well researched. This is where I step in! I will work closely with the experts at Altius, creating and designing dietary plans that will compliment and aid the physiotherapy treatments .Research is currently showing that using a multi-disciplinary approach we can achieve better results and therefore return people to full health in a more timely fashion.
How Can Diet Aid Recovery?
A healthy diet really does work wonders for the body, for example, a diet rich in antioxidants, which can be found in green teas and vegetables, helps boost the immune system. The health benefits of a carefully researched diet have countless positives when it comes to your physical wellbeing. As I am due to start working with Altius, aiding their clients with recovery, here a few ways that the correct diet and nutrients can help certain conditions:
Inflammation: Omega-3 fatty acids that can be found in fish like salmon, mackerel, anchovies and sardines are naturally anti-inflammatory. Furthermore, ginger, turmeric and cayenne pepper share these natural anti-inflammatory qualities. By sticking to a healthy diet and supporting the gut, inflammation which is caused by poor digestion and absorption can be avoided. Inflammation can lead to all sorts of physical issues such as arthritis, joint pains and ligament pain.
Bone Health and Strengthening: Foods such as nuts, seeds, olive oil and avocados have great benefits for bone health. They contain omega-3 and omega-6 which increase calcium absorption and reduce calcium loss, helping you attain and maintain healthy bones. Phytoestrogens, which can be found in fruit and vegetables, are great for bone density, working these foods into your diet will also help aid recovery from a break. Phytoestrogens also a crucial addition to a diet for post-menopausal women, who lose bone density.
Osteoporosis: In aiding this condition it is essential to have plenty of vitamin K in your diet, this can be found in dark- green leafy vegetables such as kale, spinach and chard, which can be added to your morning juices and smoothies! Potassium, which can be found in bananas and sweet potatoes, is also beneficial for those suffering from osteoporosis, as well as magnesium which can be found in abundance in seeds.
This project that I am taking up with Altius is all about achieving better outcomes with our clients through using a multi-disciplinary approach to well-being. I am very excited to start our new project and begin our journey of supporting those suffering with injury, pain and recovery.
